Description

The Wood's Wild Rose - Rosa woodsii, was found and documented by Mr. Wood, one of the men of the Corps. Rose hips were commonly used as a source of vitamin C. It would seem likely that with Sacagawea's encouragement, the men would have partaken of the fruit. A Hidatsa flute, used for courting, inspired this frame. Ducks are loyal to their mates, hence the design inspiration.
